If you want actual chord, 128 cubic feet, of hardwood this is the place to go.After buying a "load", or a "pile", and other non-measurable adjectives of firewood I can now truly appreciate what a chord (128 cu. ft) looks like. And I did measure. 🙂 Mr. Bunyan does not skimp.Also, this is all hardwood. The last "pile" of wood I picked up for fires over the holidays burnt like balsa.The delivery team who stacked the wood could not have been nicer. And I appreciated how they cleverly stacked/bridged the wood around a small electrical box on the front porch. It was fairly light wood so it did burn faster than the trees that I have in my woods such as cherry. So we went through it fairly quickly. I saw the ratings for Jay on Angie's List and since I was not totally happy with previous firewood providers I decided to give Jay a chance. I was very glad that I did just that! Jay was professional and courteous as he answered all my questions. We had to work through a couple of scheduling conflicts but he was very flexible and conscientious about following through on his end. I was particularly impressed that he was genuinely concerned that I get the firewood I wanted and that it be properly seasoned, dry and of high quality. I could not be at my house when he delivered the wood but we had worked out the particulars beforehand. However, when Jay arrived at my house, he saw that my firewood racks were not in an optimal place and so he called me to offer a better suggestion. He also explained that he wanted to make sure I was happy with the firewood and he made sure that it would be kept dry. The bottom line is that Jay went out of his way to rearrange the woodpile and he stacked every single piece and cleaned up any scraps afterwards. I have never received such service from firewood providers before (usually they just dump a load and leave a mess behind). I plan to order more firewood from Jay soon and will continue to be a customer. I am also recommending Jay to my neighbors and friends. - 12/09/2014

Called Jay to order a cord of firewood, left a message. Jay called back within a couple of hours. He was very nice on the phone, told him I got his name from Angie's list. He told me he could deliver the wood in 2 weeks, which was fine, we set the date and approximate time. On the day Jay was to deliver the wood, I waited for 2 HOURS and finally called him, I left a message because he did not answer. When he called me back, he left a message saying that he truck was in the shop, with NO apology that he left me waiting. He did not call me ahead of time, knowing that his truck was in the shop (which he should have).In his message he said I could call him back to set up another time for him to deliver the wood. Yeah right, would I EVER give this person any money! That day I called Motz whose name I also got from Angie's list, and they delivered firewood the next day, with EXCELLENT service. All Jay Bunyan needed to do was to communicate and let me know what was going on and there would not have been a problem!
